Overview

Alki is a rowing analytics platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the Service and do not sell your information.

Data We Collect

When you use Alki, we may collect:

  • Account information (email address, display name)
  • Activity and fitness data synced from Alki Connect — specifically rowing session files from your K1 device containing GPS tracks, heart rate, stroke rate, pace, and distance
  • Service usage data — pages visited, features used, session duration
  • Device and browser information for debugging and compatibility

We do not collect payment information directly. Any future billing is handled by a third-party processor.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Parse session files from your K1 device to extract rowing session data
  • Generate an enhanced PDF report from each session — covering splits, stroke rate, heart rate, pace, and training zones
  • Deliver that PDF to your email address after each session syncs
  • Diagnose bugs and improve the Service

We do not use your fitness data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Service.

Third-Party Integrations

Alki receives rowing session data from Alki Connect after you pair your K1 device and choose to sync. We use that data only to generate reports and provide the Service. We do not write or modify data on your K1 device.

You can stop syncing new sessions by disconnecting your K1 device in Alki Connect or contacting us to delete your account data.

Data Retention

We retain your activity data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are never logged. We follow industry-standard security practices and review them regularly.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
